Counselling is great – but counselling is not community. At Venturous, we prioritize community care and collective healing as a fundamental aspect to wellness. Because “the truth is, none of us can be free until everybody is free” – Maya Angelou. Come join us in our mission to support our shared community through events that contribute to collective liberation and resistance efforts!
Join us for a day of connection, joy, and purpose at Communities of Care—an event where we come together to celebrate community, build meaningful relationships, and contribute to a cause that matters.
This year, we’re bringing you an unforgettable lineup of activities, workshops, and experiences—all while raising funds to support Palestinian resistance efforts. We have dance, art, and games to support your community building.
Food will be provided by Tamam’s and the Bike Kitchen will be on site doing free bike tune ups! Want to contribute to mutual aid? Distro Disco will be onsite to collect donations for our unhoused kin.

Community Care
Last year, our drag show fundraiser raised over $1,800 for Prospect Counselling, an organization offering lower-cost counseling to SDQTBIPOC+ communities.
This year, your attendance and contributions will directly support Palestinian resistance efforts, allowing us to extend our impact globally while staying grounded in community care.

We’re committed to making Communities of Care a safer space for everyone in attendance.
*Please note: As there will be food and drinks provided, we may not be able to ensure 100% mask policy adherence, 100% of the time. We understand this will impact accessibility for folx looking to attend this event. As part of our efforts to create safer spaces, volunteers will make rounds to remind participants of the mask policy.
